I am sitting at home and thought I would join the army of armchair sleuths looking for where this remarkable mystery flight could have gone. Based on how far the plane could have flown - it could be anywhere from India to Australia. Now, if I were going to find somewhere remote land a plane this size, Australia would seem like the perfect location. So I loaded up google maps and started clicking around. Nothing, more nothing, then some more nothing.
But then...poof! I stumble across a remote airstrip not listed in any "airport" listings on google. Remote, isolated, unpopulated. It just might be the place!
You have to click satellite to see it. What do you all think? Could the plane have gone somewhere like this? I'm not an aviation expert, but it looks like there is enough room to land...and these images are from 2009 - which means this isn't a place that is flown over with satellites a lot.
